Requirements for 0.8.x
Non-Negotiable
- GNOME 1.2 or better: GNOME
is a desktop platform providing Gtk+, printing capabilities,
a help system, and many more APIs useful for supporting robust
applications.
- An ANSI compliant C compiler: I have personally tested
gcc
2.95 and 2.96. Other versions probably will work.
Optional
Terraform can make use of the following libraries/programs, if they
are installed on your system. You can build and use the application
without these packages, but some functionality will be missing:
- POV-Ray: can be used to photorealistically render the height field
you're editing in Terraform at the click of a button.
- Trio: you need libtrio if you're on a system which doesn't define/implement vfscanf and/or vsscanf. AFAIK, this is needed for IRIX.
Success Stories
The following platforms are known to have worked for terraform. Should
you be on a platform similar to the ones listed below, your chances of
terring terraform to work are pretty good.
Basically, any UNIX-type platform which supports GNOME should work.
If you have have any success stories to report from any additional
plaforms (especially, non ix86 Linux) you've managed to get terraform
to work on, I'd apprecaite it, if you'd let me know about it.
